Recycled Garden
30″ x 40″ x 3/4″
This canvas was inspired by all of the random objects that I save. I was convinced that with the right background, they could really be beautiful. When I began (in the upper left corner), I had no idea that it would turn into a garden with flowers. I just knew that I would use the items as inspiration in each section. When I decided to glue down the yellow flower circle (that had fallen off of an old purse of mine) on the left side of the canvas, I noticed a textured line in the canvas (hot glue from the previous layer) that went all the way down to the bottom. This gave me the idea to have it be the stem and I went from there.
So many materials were used to make this canvas, such as: cardboard, Popsicle sticks, old rings, twist ties, bubble wrap, paper, shells, song lyrics, glitter, netting, plastics, dried flowers, lace, sequins, lids, paint brushes, business cards, yarn, pom poms, gems, doilies, embellishments from my daughters old clothes, stickers, washers, buttons and more! All colors and designs wrap around the canvas.
